MAQS LAW FIRM ONE OF THE FOUR ANNEX I FINALISTS IN THE COPENHAGEN COMPETITION ON CLIMATE CHANGE

Anne Kathrine Eriksen from MAQS Copenhagen has made it to the finals of the Copenhagen Competition along with the team from the University of Copenhagen, the team from New York University, the team from the University of California (Berkeley) and the team from the Australian National University
From the non- Annex I states, the University of Cape Town, South Africa, Universidad de Chile, Chile, Gujarat National Law University, India and the National University of Singapore, Singapore have been selected.

At the finals, the future design of the Clean Development Mechanism and possible improvements regarding its scope, effectiveness, efficiency, accessibility, contribution to sustainable development, capacity to generate co-benefits and the transfer of technology will be discussed. Furthermore it will be discussed whether, how and when some or all non-Annex I countries should be subject to quantitative limitations of greenhouse gasses (an emission cap).

The oral rounds will be held prior to the IARU International Scientific Congress on Climate Change in March 2009, in which Anne Kathrine Eriksen will also be participating.
