![]() EU-COMMISSION CLOSES INVESTIGATION AGAINST VELUX 2009-01-22 By letter of 8 January 2009 the European Commission informed MAQS Law Firm that the investi-gation against the VELUX Group has been closed. The letter closes an investigation concerning alleged infringement of Art. 82 of European Competi-tion law, started by the Commission in 2007 and culminating with a so-called dawn raid at several European offices of VELUX ultimo September 2008. “We greet this step of the Commission with great satisfaction” says Anders Torbøl, who has been leading the Competition Law team, which assisted VELUX during the investigation. “For the past 12 years we have assisted the General Counsel of the VKR Holding A/S Group, to which VELUX belongs, in ensuring compliance with national and European competition rules, and we have, in this case, while representing VELUX before the Commission, played a proactive and cooperative role, assisting the Commission in conducting its investigation. We are very happy to see that the Commission has closed the file in what to our knowledge is the shortest time seen in this kind of case”, says Anders Torbøl. “We are happy and very satisfied with the cooperation with Anders Torbøl and his team which has culminated in the closing of the Commission investigation in such a short time. Mr. Torbøl’s advice to us, i.e. to be proactive towards the Commission, proved to be the right one”, state Henrik Ras-mussen, General Counsel, and Steen Olsen, Competition Law Compliance Officer of the VKR Holding A/S Group. |
