 MAQS LAW FIRM REPRESENTS COMFORT HOTEL IN COURT OF APPEAL VICTORY 2009-04-07 The Court of Appeal for Northern Norrland (Hovrätten för Övre Norrland) affirmed the judgement of Luleå District Court, and stated that the property owner Galären i Luleå AB had no right to dramatically increase the rent for Comfort Hotel Luleå AB, a part of Choice Hotels, represented by MAQS Law Firm. The property owner wanted to dramatically raise the rent, which Comfort Hotel Luleå AB contested with reference to the rental agreement in force. Luleå District Court gave Comfort Hotel Luleå AB right, as the agreement did not entitle the property owner to increase the rent without the tenant’s consent. In their judgement, T 239-08, The Court of Appeal for Northern Norrland (Hovrätten för Övre Norrland) affirmed the judgement of Luleå District Court.
