MAQS assists Hermès, Prada, Gucci and others in the biggest seizure of counterfeits in Denmark 2010

A shipment of 2,5 tons of potential counterfeits of well-known trademarks has been seized in the Copenhagen Airport the last week of October 2010.
The value of the goods is estimated to be several million Danish Kroner. Since they are luxury goods the potential but now averted sale at Christmas was huge.

Publication of Book – Employees´ Competitive Conduct

Attorney-at-law Jeppe Høyer Jørgensen, partner in MAQS Law Firm, has written another book in employment law. In an opposition case between The Coca-Cola Company’s trademark KILDEVÆLD and Svaneke Bryghus’ trademark KLIPPEVÆLD, the Danish Patent and Trademark Office has, by their decision of 12 April 2010, concluded that the opposition filed by The Coca-Cola Company will be upheld and the registration for KLIPPEVÆLD shall be cancelled.

The new company law

The new Company Law is expected to come into force on 1 March 2010.

The Company Law involves some significant changes and includes:

The new rules of absence

The 4th January 2010 the final parts of the new sick leave rules (rules on sick leave documentation for workers) entered into force.
